Vietnamese Teacher - Giáo viên Tiếng Anh người Việt (OLA Academy)
Utilize and follow the lesson plans and materials provided to VNTs.
To adapt prescribed lesson plans when necessary based on the learners’ needs.
To deliver dynamic and communicative lessons that are effective and engaging to the students.
To prepare lesson plans and materials for occasional lessons, such as project, Cambridge, or other extenuating lessons outside of the standard coursebook and curriculum.
To ensure students receive constructive and positive feedback on any completed work and progress.
Undertake essential administrative tasks, such as keeping up-to-date records of work, classroom registers, lesson plans, assessments, etc. as directed by the Centre Manager, Academic Manager, or Senior Teacher in accordance with OLA’s requirements.
To write individual and personalized constructive and positive student reports as required.
To submit to periodic announced or unannounced classroom visits by the Centre Manager, Head of Academic, or Senior Teachers.
To share academic materials and resources as needed.
To complete periodic professional development tasks during your term of employment.
Assist with pastoral duties as requested by the Centre or Academic Manager, or Senior Teacher.
To complete periodic professional development tasks during the term of employment.
To consistently ensure the welfare of our students remains paramount.
To be fully engaged in the nature of the programme.
To actively discourage students from engaging in improper behavior, including sexual liaisons, bullying, rowdiness, or any other activity which could be of harm to other students or bring the company into disrepute.
To ensure proper discipline is maintained throughout the programme.
To act in a professional manner with all clients and staff and not engage in any activity which may bring the programme (or client organization) into disrepute.
To assist all students to derive the maximum benefit from the course.
To respect the property and equipment and maintaining security and avoiding loss and/or damages.
To dress in a manner commensurate with the demands of the position: smart for teaching; ILA T-shirts (when available) for activities and excursions.
To read and be fully conversant with all documentation and handbooks relating to the role and all pertinent requirements prior to the start of employment.
To carry out any duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Centre Manager, Academic Manager, or Senior Teacher.
University degree with a major conducted in English. For example, English for Business, Teaching English, English Translation/Interpreting, and/or university requirement of IELTS 5.5 or higher to complete the degree.
Certificate in Teaching English. For example, CELTA/TESOL/TEFL with 120 hours or more of study. Alternatively, OLA can provide a TEFL course that must be completed within 3 months of working as a VNT.
IELTS 6.5+, with a certificate as proof. If the candidate does not have an IELTS certificate, a general IELTS mock test conducted by a standardized placement tester at OLA may be used in lieu.
Strongly preferred, but not required.
