“Strong listening and speaking skills will help kids effectively learn and use English!”
With this view, my family decided we had to find an English learning environment that is as close as possible to a native one,” Ms Thuy, mother of two ILA students, begins her story of investing in her children’s future by choosing to send them to ILA.
On sharing more about how to help a child learn English well, Ms Thuy continued, “Both my husband and I are lecturers at Universities in HCMC, and we both learned English during high school and then university… So it’s quite ironic that we are not confident enough to teach our children English! This is because we realized the English that we learned is theoretical, and not much related to reality. I can read and understand English books, but I always lose confidence when communicating with foreigners, and do not know what to say. They can’t understand me, and I can’t hear them because they speak too quickly!”
“From our own experience, we knew we had to find a good English teaching environment for our children. One that encouraged them to communicate comfortably by improving their listening and speaking skills. And the ultimate goal of learning a foreign language, at the end of the day, is to communicate well with others. The first step is to communicate, the second step is to interact, and finally to develop the knowledge and skills to be successful in life. My family chooses ILA for both of our children. At this point, our first child, Minh Thi, has been learning for more than a year and a half, and Xuan Bac, our second child, has been learning for nearly one year. We can say that we have made the right decision,” Ms Thuy concludes.
