Cấu trúc khẳng định:

Ví dụ:

• There is a book on the table. (Có một quyển sách trên bàn.)
• There is a pen in my hand. (Có một cây bút trong tay tôi.)
• There is water in the glass. (Có nước trong cốc.)

2. There are
Cấu trúc there are được sử dụng để diễn tả sự tồn tại của nhiều vật thể, người hoặc ý tưởng.
Cấu trúc khẳng định:

Ví dụ:
• There are many books on the shelf. (Có nhiều sách trên kệ.)
• There are three dogs in the park. (Có ba con chó trong công viên.)
• There are some apples in the basket. (Có vài quả táo trong cái giỏ.)
• There were a lot of people at the party. (Có rất nhiều người trong buổi tiệc.)
Câu phủ định:
| There aren’t + any/ từ chỉ số lượng + Danh từ đếm được số nhiều |
Ví dụ:
• There aren’t any chairs in the room. (Không có bất kỳ cái ghế nào trong phòng.)
• There aren’t enough pencils for everyone. (Không đủ bút chì cho mọi người.)
Câu nghi vấn:
